I have recently been checking my system to see whats up with my crapy framemates and I noticed that conan is only running on ONE 2.5ghz core instead of across all 4 cores. Does anyone have any ideas for me? I have a buddy comming over after work tonight to try and help me figure out wahts going on with it... but any advice would be pimp...

Try running windows media player in the background, this has helped some people on the forums. Other than that you will have to wait til funcom fixes thier program glitch. Windows media player starts a dll that will cure the problem , not everyone is having the problem either seems to be mostly amd 4 cores.

I know where your problem is. When you logged in you must have pushed the "play" button instead of the "easy" button.

What kind of FPS you getting?

I'm running Q6600 with 8800 GTS OC 512 DDR3 and I get 30-35FPS minimum in town... usually 75FPS outside... and 120+ FPS in dungeon instances...

wtf.

You running Vista or XP Reaper? I have the same setup (Except I have the 640mb 8800GTS) and I'm only getting half that FPS.

Acer V223Wbd Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor (I have 2 of these)
Antec 550w Neo Power Supply
Antec Sonata Plus II ATX Mid Tower Computer(Ugly POS but Im just going to paint and cut it anyhow)
AMD Phenom 9850 BLACK EDITION 2.5GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core
Asus 3870 quiet 512mb DDR4 Video Card
4GB Kingston DDR2
750gb Seagate 7200rpm SATA HD 32MB Cache
20x Asus DVD-R/W lightscribe
Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe
-Upgradeable to Quad PCI-E Video Cards

I am getting 6 to 18fps.
I have the AMD Overclocker util and I was using it to monitor the system while playing and its all jacked up. Some major influnces are what resolution I am running the game at, if it is in window'd mode or full screen, or if it's on my first or second monitor.
When in window mode I noticed that sometimes it runs on all 4 cores, however if I flip to another application (example: Teamspeak) When I flop back to the game it all dumps everything on to one core. When I zone and everything is loading it uses all 4 cores which is cool. However this game uses MAYBE 30% of my video card. No matter what my settings are at.
I think I may just say "fuck off Funcom" until they get their shit right and go play something else.
When running the test in Counterstrike I was clocking 230fps. Conan should NOT be that big of an issue.

Oh yeah: Running XP Pro with this.

Fluffy... Vista.

Of course all that has changed now, with their "fixes."  Roll Eyes

Now I run around 60 FPS tops.... usually 45-60 range.

Of course, put more than 5 players on the screen... well we all know how that goes... lol.

Just an update to this, sort of.

I run a 2.4 quad core, with a GTX 260 (expensive but well worth it) video card, 4 gigs of ram, and vista 64.

I get easily over 50 fps everywhere. I run on super high everything with anti aliasing at 16x. I still run at 30+ in a seige or a raid.

The fixes have been big and effective. there stil are random problems, but alot less and much more acceptable.   Smiley
